Untitled [Intersection], 2008
Contemporary Art & Poetry

Every 4th Friday of the month, from 7-9 pm, in the Phinney Center Gallery (2nd floor).

Wine reception with light fare and a complimentary copy of the Untitled Manifesto, a booklet of artist manifestos with hand-printed, signed and numbered covers made by printmaker Kate Freeman.

Untitled [Intersection] was conceived as a live art series, designed to strengthen the Seattle arts community by cross-fertilizing, fostering dialog between genres and bringing fresh talent to the fore. On the 4th Friday of every month, between 7-9 pm, Untitled [Intersection] showcases experimental performance art and exceptional poetry. Suggested $5.

SEPTEMBER 2008 ARTISTS/CURATORS

PANEL OF KICKASS POETRY CURATORS comes together for a combined READING & PUBLIC FORUM about our passion for presenting. 7P, Friday 26 September, at The Phinney Neighborhood Center in Greenwood, Untitled [Intersection] presents its first stellar event of Fall 2008. We hope you'll join us.

Panel: JENNIFER BORGES FOSTER (Seattle Poetry Festival), BRIAN MCGUIGAN (Cheap Wine and Poetry/Hugo House), JED MEYERS (NorthEndForum/Bai Pai), MICHAEL SCHEIN (LitFuse/Tieton) & ROBERT TOMLINSON (Gallery One/Ellensburg).

Why do they do it, how do they find talent, where is the money, how do they build audience, does it curb their own writing practice? O my.
This discussion hopes to attract poetry curators, their adoring fans, other kinds of event curators and, of course, just your general run of the mill poetry lover. If you curate an event and are not on this panel, I hope you'll consider joining our discussion. If the format works, I'll run something like it again in the spring. I know you've got something to say. We'd love to hear it!

Thanks for your continued support.

A. K. Allin
Curator, Untitled [Intersection]
