Born in the Netherlands, I started catching frogs and toads as a little kid in Holland, chased around snakes and lizards on summer vacations in Germany, and through my teenage and adult years I never lost my passion for reptiles and creepy crawlies. I'm the dad of an 8 year old boy and a 10 year old girl and we live in the Phinney Ridge area. I have been a stay at home dad, and I've been breeding reptiles and amphibians for most of my life. I also do lots of birthday parties and school presentations throughout the Puget Sound area.

Join us as we take a deep dive into the whimsical world of Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar.  We will learn about caterpillars, butterflies, and the amazing transformation that happens in between.  We will create thematic, yet open-ended art each day, inspired by Eric Carle and his classic book. Together, we will use our imaginations and our whole bodies for pretend play as we act out and experience a different phase of the story each day, using simple items as costumes and props. Our schedule each day will include circle time, snack, outdoor time, and choice time.

There are few better ways to start summer than exploring the world of cooking for your child! Amazing smells, wonderful flavors, and culinary experimentation await in this camp. Kids are naturally inquisitive, but often feel intimidated with cooking. Take this opportunity to give them that push towards being self-sufficient and confident! By starting your children young, they can begin to develop a love of the kitchen as well as skills they can use the rest of their lives.

Hannah is a graduate from one of the top culinary schools in Washington, where she focused on sustainability practices. She is currently a part time teaching assistant at her alma mater, where she helps educate culinary professionals on how to become better chefs and leaders. Having over 10 years combined personal and professional experience in childcare, she is excited to combine her love of teaching with her passion for cooking in these courses.
